We were invited to a friend`s 50th birthday celebration themed ” Hollywood” as guests. Before making it to her place, was thinking if i need to bring my camera as she probably have her photographers and we are there as guests, but after asking my wife if i should bring it, she said it was up to me. Well, better to be on the safe side, I have decided to bring along just one camera and a 50mm lens to keep it small and handy. Neglected the flash as it would turn out too bulky. Upon arrival at Deborah`s place, we realized we were under dressed. Everyone seems to be dressed up according to the theme and we thought it was just going to be a simple event and neglected the costumes. While we were moving around, Deborah approached me and asked if i could be her photographer as her photographer seems to be late or not around. I agreed of course, although i only had basic gears and to make things worst, i didn’t bring extra memory cards. The current card in the camera was used up to 80% from the previous shoot and was only backed up once as the shoot was just earlier that very morning. I normally back up my photos at least 2-3 times in different location and since i didn’t have enough time, i just backed up once. So I had to be very careful with the selected photos to delete from the morning shoot before clearing the space for the evening event. Was actually deleting one by one while shooting, not really convenient but didn’t have a choice as I didn’t expect to be the photographer for the day, just thought of capturing some shots for personal use. Anyways, to my surprise, the new cam that wife bought, worked well with low light, even without the flash. This was the first time i was pushing the limit of the new camera. Many even asked me, how did i take shots without the flash. At the end of the day, the results were good and I even manage to complete the slide show as a gift for her the next day. We watched the slideshow together and she loved it so much and she got emotional watching it. That made my day seeing her so happy with the result.
