Hooray Magazine - Interview (Perth and Melbourne Wedding Photographer)

Thank you so much Hooray Magazine for this awesome interview. I always struggle with interview, even if it was a simple one. Why? because my english isn't that great and my grammar can be pretty entertaining for some.

Tell us a little about yourself

I love everything that contains salted caramel! I love minimal designs and the art of simplicity, and I love capturing the finest moments with light and emotion.

I didn’t know that I would become a wedding photographer, or be in any creative industry – it was a surprise to me and everyone around me. I was in the I.T business for a few years and photography was just a weekend hobby back then. Along the way, my passion for photography grew and eventually it became a business. I’ve loved it ever since and always thank my wife who introduced me to the camera.

What does a typical day at work look like for you?

I start my day with Facebook – I am so addicted to Facebook, it’s like reading the newspaper in the morning for me now. Then I would start going through emails and the boring accounts before starting my long stretch of photo processing, and that is my complete workday during the week. When it’s on a wedding day, everything happens so fast! By the time I get to take a break it’s already the wedding reception. We usually chat about the wedding day in the car on the way back to keep our journey fun until we get home.

What’s your approach to photography?

My approach to photography is capturing the finest moment with light and emotion. It’s more than just beautiful imagery; I would like the image to mean something and the viewers to feel the couple’s finest moment.

What should people expect before meeting with you?

Hmm…This is a tough one. I guess they should expect to have comfortable and entertaining conversion. We would discuss everything about the wedding day, from the preparation to the end of the reception. I would like to know everything about their plans and what they consider to be the most important part of the day. I would also like to know their love story as it helps me capture their moment better.
