Traditional Thai Rustic Wedding Theme with a Modern Contemporary Twist

Sarah and Lance is from Perth, Australia (which is where I am from!). Funny thing is, I have not met them till I was in Chiang Mai , Thailand a few months before their wedding to capture the pre-wedding session.

They are such an amazing and friendly couple and they got me a room at the same resort for their pre-wedding and a few months later for their wedding. Upon check in, the nice people at the resort further upgrade my room to a nice suite at the top floor! I am dont normally have this "upgrade" luck especially during my travels. Still praying for a free flight upgrade to first without using my points of paying extra.  haha.

What I love about this resort was the modern contemprary design around the resort. With the fusion of minimalism and traditional Thai. It blended so well and was perfect setting for a wedding or any commercial / fashion photography.

There are so many interesting locations that it was a hard decision to decide where to go for photos because of the time contraint. The highlight of the day was the floating aisle. It was spectacular!!. And it wasnt just "floating", it was floating with the spectacular view in the background. Because we are at quite a high floor, so the elevation made it even more scenic. Then there is the traditional wooden houses that they have turned into restaurants with a big moden struture over it. So much potential to create something creative with it.

My only challenge with the number of videographers. I think there were like 9 of them and there were everywhere!! So guys, if you are planning to have a destination wedding, in Australia or anywhere, please check with the videographers and make sure they dont have more than 2-3 shooters. Its like a whole production team working on this small and intimate wedding! Also please check with your photographer if they have any good recommendation, some really cool and creative videograpehrs that work well as a team.
